39th Corvette Chevy Expo Returns to Galveston Island Convention Center

Punta Gorda, FL.– November 25, 2016-Next March, Galveston Island will be revving with excitement as the 39th Corvette & Chevy Expo brings to Texas an all Chevy Car Show and Aftermarket Trade Show to the Galveston Island Convention Center. This family-friendly event running Saturday, March 11 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 12 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. features custom, classic and vintage show cars, cars for sale and vendors from across the country, a Miniature Wheels Show, Craft Fair and Sunday a Swimsuit Contest.

Spectators will be treated to fabulous Corvettes and Chevys that are clearly the movers and shakers in the car show world.  The coveted Best of Show Corvette, Best of Show Camaro, Best of Show Chevy, Best of Show Chevy Truck and Best Display Awards recognize the hottest vehicles in the industry. “The Corvette Chevy Expo contenders are named based on a number of key factors," said Bill Wolf, Corvette Chevy Expo president. "These vehicles are judged on 100-point criteria and have all proven themselves as noteworthy in the collector car world. A ballot is also given to spectators, who are asked to make their selection for their favorite car for the People’s Choice Award. Awards will be presented in several other categories as well, at the awards ceremony Sunday at 5 p.m. ”

This year's event will also include a Miniature Wheels Show which is open to Pedal Cars, Golf Carts Go Carts, Valve Covers, Bicycles and even Motorcycles.  Anything with Miniature Wheels!

Check out the beautiful selection of handmade items for sale at the Craft Fair in the Spinnaker Hall.

"Last year the Corvette Chevy Expo moved to the Galveston Island Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, TX 77554 just south of Houston.  The new location was enthusiastically accepted. The Corvette Chevy Expo maintained its traditional format.  Since the event's inception, the Corvette Chevy Expo has served as the venue to bring Chevrolet automotive parts and accessories, apparel and memorabilia to the greater Houston area," said Bill Wolf, Corvette Chevy Expo president. "Many of our spectators travel in from out of state, and the Galveston Island adds the perfect vacation atmosphere."

“There are thousands of products that improve performance, safety, and convenience, as well as those that enhance appearance and comfort.  While products are available for every make and model vehicle, exhibitors are focused to a greater extent on the Corvette and Chevy more than any other vehicle. Consumers, therefore, can expect to find more options for accessorizing these vehicles.”

On Sunday at 3 p.m., spectators and participants are treated to the annual swimsuit contest where models compete for cash prizes as well as competition in the Houston-based Swimsuit USA International Model Search. The Swimsuit USA-International Model Search is open to women 18 and older.  The Swimsuit contest takes place in the Yacht Hall, followed by the Awards Ceremony.

Vette Vues Magazine is the manager and promoter of this annual event.  “The Corvette Chevy Expo was a huge success last year, and was completely sold out,” said President, Bill Wolf.  “Last year’s event featured an amazing collection of Chevrolet cars and trucks.  We continue to see the momentum building for an even more impressive turnout at this year’s event, and it’s all taking place in Texas – it’s where the cars are.  Vette Vues Magazine is committed to preserving and promoting the automotive restoration industry through its projects and programs.  This is evident in this event.”

“As car enthusiasts ourselves, we wanted to make this a memorable event not only for participants but spectators as well,” said Bill Wolf. “Corvette & Chevy Expo has become an annual family-friendly event in Texas and surrounding states on the auto show circuit and this year it will celebrate its 39th year.”

The Corvette Chevy Expo is open to the general public with tickets available at the door for $15, children under 12 are free.   Discount tickets are available online.  More event information can be obtained online at or by calling 386-775-2512.
